Your Impact in Action: Presenting Our New Annual Report
Last year, 3,194 individuals turned to Volunteer Legal Advocates during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. And thanks to a remarkable community of volunteer attorneys, donors, and partners, we were there to provide each of them with access to justice.
Your support meant that survivors of domestic violence, immigrant survivors of gender-based violence, and vulnerable children received legal aid and compassion when they needed it most, and 97% of clients surveyed felt safer after receiving our services.
Our cases and clinics were powered by 611 volunteer attorneys who donated 42,000 hours of their expertise, value
d at $23 million in pro bono legal services. Our team served clients in 41 languages, and 529 cases received dedicated support from our client advocates, who help ensure survivors can navigate the legal process with dignity.
We’re especially proud that every $1 donated to Volunteer Legal Advocates becomes $5 in legal services. That multiplier is made possible by the volunteer attorneys, law firms, and corporate partners who show up year after year because they believe, as we do, that a life free of violence and abuse is a basic human right.
