Your IRA, 401k, 403b, or other retirement plan is an excellent way to leave a lasting legacy that will benefit survivors and at-risk children. On a “change of beneficiary form,” you can name Volunteer Legal Advocates as a full or partial beneficiary. Retirement assets left to individuals may be heavily taxed up to 70%, but when given to a qualified charity like ours, they pass tax-free.

You can support Volunteer Legal Advocates through your Donor Advised Fund by recommending a grant to us (EIN: 26-1089584). For specific questions on how to recommend a grant, please contact your financial advisor or institution. For questions about giving to Volunteer Legal Advocates, please contact us at donate@volunteerlegaladvocates.org.

Many employers will match charitable contributions made by their staff, doubling or even tripling the impact of your gift to Volunteer Legal Advocates. Matched gifts may also qualify you for a higher Giving Circle level, such as the Amplifying Voices Society. Check with your HR department to see if your company participates.

Leadership gifts creating lasting impact.

Established in 2020, Volunteer Legal Advocates’ Amplifying Voices Society honors donors who contribute $1,000 or more annually or sponsor our Benefit at $2,500 or above. These leadership gifts form the cornerstone of unrestricted support for Volunteer Legal Advocates, funding that provides the flexibility to meet urgent needs and deliver pro bono legal services to more than 3,000 low-income clients annually.

Your support helps us:

  • Recruit and retain expert supervising attorneys who mentor volunteers across all practice areas.
  • Hire dedicated advocates who provide crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, and social service referrals.
  • Deliver high-quality legal services through volunteer training and professional development in cultural humility and trauma-informed care.
  • Expand our reach through initiatives like legal clinics and emergency legal services.

Join the Amplifying Voices Society and help end the cycle of violence for survivors and children through pro bono legal aid.
